WHO IT’S FOR
WANTED: Small business owners who loooove to have a good time (which definitely sometimes involves talking endlessly about business over cappuccinos and beignets). #BeingBossNOLA is the right fit for the creative entrepreneur who works hard and is ready to play hard. Bonus points if you can get down with the woo, don’t mind humidity, and would gladly cram into a tiny room in the back of a dive bar with your pals for the tastiest po’boy of your life.
“[#BeingBossNOLA is] a bunch of creatives taking a leap to get out of our boxes, make new friends, get inspired, open our minds, talk to strangers, and laugh, all while learning things you can’t learn on your computer.”

WHAT TO EXPECT
Leave the spreadsheets, bring the tarot deck (but we will provide a notebook + pen). We take vacationing seriously, and by that we mean that we don’t take it seriously at all. #BeingBossNOLA is about being together and having fun. You’ll cheers at a cocktail party, laugh at a live podcast recording, learn at a masterclass, swap French Quarter stories over a community meal, and have plenty of free time in-between to enjoy all that New Orleans has to offer.
“This is a chance to get together with kind, thoughtful, interesting, like-minded creative business owners to form deeper connections than is often possible online. Some people talk about business a lot, and some don’t, and both are totally fine!”

You asked; we listened. Sometimes you bosses want a bit more. A bit more business. A bit more intimacy – both with Emily + Kathleen and with each other. This year we’re introducing a small number of VIP tickets to our Vacation offering, giving you the option to dive a little deeper, with Emily + Kathleen and the other VIP bosses. Structured to feel like a tight-knit mastermind, this option will have us checking in with you before the vacation, as well as opportunities to connect more during the vacation, and wrap-up together once we’ve all headed back home.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I have to stay at the vacation hotel?
Nope! Buuuut…you’ll probably want to. When attendees don’t stay at the vacation hotel, they often feel as if they’re missing out on a lot of the unscheduled fun that happens when we’re all staying in the same place.
We chose Maison Dupuy for their ideal French Quarter location, dreamy accommodations, and well… have you seen their courtyard?! We plan on hosting an event or two at Maison Dupuy and chances are, we’ll be spending a good amount of our time poolside with a cocktail in hand. We’d love to have you join us.
Room block information (including discounted room rates) will be available to you after registration.
What dates should I book travel for?
We recommend that you book travel no less than Wednesday to Saturday, as our events begin on Wednesday evening and our Boss Celebration – the event no boss should miss – is on Friday night.
What’s the split between program time and free time?
As much as we want to get down to business with you (and plan on it!), we also factor in plenty of time for you to get out into New Orleans on your own time to do what interests you the most – either with fellow bosses, or all on your own (Emily’s favorite thing is wandering the streets all by her self- weird or awesome?).
You can expect to attend a couple of events each day with us, with time in-between to find amazing restaurants, explore the outdoor markets, picnic in Jackson Square, head out of the city on a swamp tour, or rest up before the next group event. We’ll release an itinerary a few weeks before the vacation.
Will dietary restrictions be taken into account?
Absolutely. We always do our best to factor in food allergies and/or dietary needs for meals that are included. Just let us know what your restrictions are when you purchase your ticket and we’ll try our best to accommodate.
How do I find a roommate?
Once ticket sales are complete, we’ll open up a Slack channel where all of our attendees can connect, make plans, and figure out housing arrangements. That will be the best time and place to get hooked up with roommates!
What is your refund/ticket-transfer policy?
We do not offer refunds. However, we are more than happy to help you transfer your ticket to another boss on our waitlist up to 2 months before the event. After that 2 month cut-off point of July 26, 2018, you will be solely responsible for finding someone to take your ticket if you can’t attend.
No matter who facilitates transfer, we must be notified of all transfers, so that we can make sure we keep an updated list of attendees. Otherwise, the new attendee won’t get email updates about the event!
Can I bring my husband/wife/friend/kid?
If you bring someone that you would like to come with you to any Boss Vacation events, they will need to have a ticket of their own.
If you’re down to bring your kids,Masterclass and Live Podcast Recording sessions are appropriate for ages 18+, and Cocktail Meet + Greet and Boss Celebration is 21+.
If I don’t make it, can I still get a SWAG bag?
No. SWAG bags are for attendees (meaning they attended).
