All right back to our show. Hey bosses. So I actually forgot to record this minisode earlier this week. So today I was at the gym, totally scrambling to come up with a topic to talk about. And I really started thinking about what differentiates successful creatives from the rest of the crowd. Now I get to talk to and interact with and be friends with a lot of creative entrepreneurs. And so here are just a few of the patterns that I found from the ones that are the most successful. Now I'm just telling you what I found, I don't know that it's true, or that these things will make you more successful. It's just what I've literally seen from all of my friends and clients who are super successful creatives. All right. Now, number one, they have faith. Now, if this bothers you, I want you to know that it bothered me too. I remember whenever I came to this realization, it was actually my friend promise tanger Man, I was talking to her at designer vacate A few years ago, towards the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. And she is not shy about loving God. And I felt like there's this like whole crew of really successful creative entrepreneurs, who were, I guess, like even thinking God in their work. And I was like, well shoot, like, do I need to start going to church, I was actually kind of scared that maybe I wouldn't be as successful as these creatives who do believe in a higher power. Because I did not really think of myself as someone who had a lot of faith. The way that I kind of grappled with this a little bit, is I guess I just dug deep to find faith in something, even if that was my own ability, my ability to create, and really like a faith in the good of others. And that really helped me be okay with it.

I think that also, just the ability for people with faith is that they are able to embrace the mystery and embrace the unknown. And I guess even get some of the ego out of the work that they're doing, because they're doing it for this higher power. So it's just what I found. I think it's interesting, and it's something I would like to dig in deeper, but today is just the minisode. So let's go on to point number two. really successful creatives know what they want. They know how to talk about what they want, and they know how to ask for what they want. This is everything from money to dream clients, to really awesome projects, to their relationships and friendships, and even to the stuff outside of work like travel adventure, hobbies. Successful creatives are not bogged down by indecision, or a lack of confidence. Alright, number three. Successful creative entrepreneurs all seem to work out or meditate and eat well. In other words They're disciplined. They have routines, they stick to them, and they take care of themselves. I was recently recently listening to an interview with Tony Robbins. And he was saying that he won't even coach his clients until they're in tip top physical shape. And so there's really something to that.

Alright, number four, I have found that successful creatives have always been good at whatever job they've had. So, I have a good friend who recently switched careers from doing Account Management at a small advertising agency. And he was doing some media buying, and some advertising, just general stuff, to giving all that up to work at a craft brewery, helping them with some of their outreach and events. Now, he had no experience in this field, but he loves beer. And he wanted to try something he was passionate about. Now, he almost let his lack of experience keep him from even applying for the job. But because he has a good work ethic, he'll be good at whatever job he commits himself to. So he went ahead and applied for the job, he got it, and he's totally rocking it. Of course he is. And I also know people who are really great at their jobs. And because they keep getting promoted within their jobs, they're afraid to quit and do their own thing. So the secret here is that if you're really good at working for someone else, you'll probably be really good at working for yourself, too. Alright. Number five, successful creative entrepreneurs always seem to be super generous. They're generous with their time with their money. And with their knowledge and their expertise. They give to charities, they volunteer their time, and they openly share their ideas. They're not hoarding their thoughts and ideas, and they're always collaborating, and they just aren't threatened or bothered by competition. Alright, I hope I've given you a little something to chew on today. Think about some of the patterns that you found from the successful creatives that you follow or admire. What are they like? What are some of their traits? What are some of their habits, try and pick some of those up and see what it does for your business.
